I need an option to preserve old-style formatting. Until that I have to use previous version (1.6.12).

Clarification

Why adding second item (in my second sample) alters indentation of first item? Compare two definitions, v1 and v2: v1 = [{ f: 1 }]; v2 = [{ f: 1 }, { p: 2 }]; In both cases formatting should be consistent, and should looks like this: v2 = [{ f: 1 }, { p: 2 }]; This style of indentation was used in a...

Formatting: indentation of Object fields

Incorrect formatting:

Code: Select all

var v1 = {
	a: [{
			b: 1,
			c: 2
		}, {}]
};
But without second item in array it is correct:

Code: Select all

var v2 = {
	a: [{
		b: 1,
		c: 2
	}]
};
This bug distorted formatting in most of our sources, please, fix it ASAP!

Comments in array of objects

Try to format this (2 times):

Code: Select all

{
	var v = f([{
		a: 1
	},
	/*{
		b: 2,
	},*/
	{
		c: 3
	}]);
}
Placing spaces & newlines around /* */ gives various (buggy) results. I can't find a good way to do this.

Var as the only statement

The following code couldn't be formatted:

Code: Select all

if (1)
 var v = 1;
f();
I know, this is stupid code, but it disables formatting for a whole file.

Version number

Please, add hotfix number in version as 4-th number, for example 1.6.12.1, 1.6.12.2, etc. It would be the easiest and most convenient way of detecting and installing any new hotfixes and versions, for example via Eclipse Update Manager. It would be nice if you include hotfix history into the main ve...

Wildcard support

Could you add at least wildcard support in .jsb files?

Formatting field values

The code: obj = { idNameRecord: Ext.data.Record.create([{ name: 'id', type: 'int' }, { name: 'name', type: 'string' }]) } I think it should be formatted with identation: obj = { idNameRecord: Ext.data.Record.create([{ name: 'id', type: 'int' }, { name: 'name', type: 'string' }]) }

Code assist details

Could you publish how code assist works for ExtJS? I'm interested in what annotations and other things makes sense? (I know only about /** @private */, parsing Ext.extend) It will be very helpful for developers in creating correct metainformation for the code.

It helps for this case, but absolutely unsuitable in all other cases: Why it wraps all arguments on the new line even if there is a lot of space to leave them on the same line (and Line wrapping policy is set to Wrap only when necessary) (this happens if function has two or more arguments)? function...

Is it possible to use Source->Format?

I dot't know if it will conflict with JDT, but I see that this item (Source->Format) is disabled. Is it possible to use this feature via this menu, or it's absolutely impossible?

Menu name

I started to write that it doesn't work but at the last moment I noticed menu item "Format JavaScript". Why don't use a standart, existing menu item: Source -> Format ???
