Code Completion for Ext JS 4.1.1 not working

Post by randym » Wed Jun 20, 2012 7:31 pm

I've installed the latest plugin (1.6.23), and I've gone through the setup for Ext JS 4.x here http://www.spket.com/extjs.html several times. I still get no code completion.

Any suggestions?

Hi Eric,

I've done exactly what randym did and have the latest spket plugin (1.6.23) from the update site and I moved the sdk.jsb3 file from "build" to the parent and have reconfigured the Ext 4 javascript profile to reference this as you suggested in the other thread -- but code completion is still not working. I have compared the screen shots you've shown of how the profile configuration process should look at each step and my configuration looks the same. And in fact when I go to the Profile Explorer view and select the Ext 4 profile from the options dropdown it does load the syntax for ext js and under the Global category I can see the Ext command. But when hitting ctrl-space in an empty javascript file that was opened with the Spket javascript editor it doesn't show Ext as an option in the code completion list. I have the eclipse 3.7.1 modeling package. I do see this error message in the error log "Invalid preference page path: XML Syntax" but its from the org.eclipse.ui plugin so I'm not sure that its related at all.

Thanks,
Warwick

Are you sure you are using Spket JavaScript Editor? take a look the screen shot in http://www.spket.com/extjs.html step 10.

Yes I am using the right editor. I've confirmed that all the screenshots match what I have done. That's why I'm confused. Do you know of any other issues related to the content assist framework that may be involved? e.g. Could it be that I don't have the right content assist categories enabled? Also I don't have the JEE eclipse package installed, its the modeling package. Is the JEE package a requirement? There don't seem to be any preferences for the javascript compiler, editor and content assist under preferences. Only the java preferences.

No, it does not need JEE package
But when hitting ctrl-space in an empty javascript file that was opened with the Spket javascript editor it doesn't show Ext as an option in the code completion list
So, what does it list in the code completion? can you post more information or maybe a screen shot?

Sure, In fact I was going to post a screenshot but couldn't figure out how :) Drag and drop doesn't do it in chrome and when I click the img tab in the edit window it just inserts markup language.

No, not on this page at least which is what I get when I click your user id: memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=2
There's just a link to your website.

Ok I've got it working now. Not sure which of the changes that I made fixed it but I did the following:

1. Switched from the open source 4.1.0 ext-js library to the 4.1.1 licensed version.
2. I copied the sdk.jsb3 file to the parent rather than moving it.

Thanks,
Warwick

Hi,

I am trying to use spket plugin for Ext JS 4.1 autocomplete support in Eclipse. I followed each steps as given in video link "http://vimeo.com/30308177"

After configuring each steps as given in video, When I created new JS file and open this file in Spket Java Script Editor and type line "new Ext.", it never open any code assist popup. Am I missing some steps to get code assist for Ext JS 4.1. Is there any other thing, I need to copy in Eclipse to see the autocomplete feature.

Please help me in this regard.

Thanks in Advance
Awadhesh

That video is quite old, please fellow this page http://www.spket.com/extjs.html, for Ext 4.1.x, before creating profile, you have to move sdk.jsb3 from extjs-4.1.x/build to extjs-4.1.x. step 8(the text of node Ext is bold, means that profile is default via step 7) and step 10 has screen shot for your reference.
