Dreamweaver Installation Problem

Post by kristingish » Thu Jun 05, 2008 2:29 pm

Hello,

I am having a problem installing the 2.1 extension in dreamweaver.
I tried installing all versions, which didn't work and then i did an uninstall on all.

I opened, ran and closed dreamweaver as advised, before installing 2.1

The install went through fine and the extension appears fine and is enabled in my extension manager.

however the menu is not there in dreamweaver.

i'm trying to move into the world of ext js 2.0 and am overwhelmed.

help?

Which one was installed, SpketDWCS or SpketDW? if SpketDWCS was installed, there is no menu...

That is my own dumb oversight, but how then do i access it.

The problem that I'm having is that I'm learning as I go and dreamweaver has been my backbone.

So I downloaded Ext 2.1 and of course when I open the examples they dont load in Dreamweaver properly. My goal is to use Ext 2.1 to create XML forms but this is new to me and I seem to be unsuccessful at even beginning.

'Ext.Window.js' Created

Post by kristingish » Thu Jun 05, 2008 4:09 pm

Color of 'Ext.Window' reads orange in javascript file.

I have saved this file as Ext.Window.js in the main directory of ext-2.1.

I am unsure what to do with this file and am not sure how to answer your question unfortunately.

Am I supposed to be entering something after 'w1.'?

I am new to Javascript and have managed to use and edit existing code but am not a programmer.

I have a site I am working on for my company right now and the forms are outdated. I currently updated our 'Request Information' form to include validation on more fields than before using MM_Validation but the problem I am having is that once you click submit, if fields are incomplete it will notify you via pop-up of each one, once is fine, but then it automatically still submits the page. I have tried every fix for it and nothing seems to work.

The forms are a mess and in fact the whole site was made in one month so the code is not anything I am proud of but since I have been unable to find a quick fix for this which is urgent I was hoping to recreate the forms using Ext. JS 2.0.

I'm obviously in over my head.

The Color of 'Ext.Window' is orange that means the extension has be installed correctly, move cursor after "w1." and press key Ctrl+Space will show the properties and methods of Ext.Window in the code hints list, the extension provide code highlighting and code hints for Ext 2.1, the feature in available in javascript file and in HTML script tag, you can take a look the screen shots in page: http://www.spket.com/dreamweaver-extension.html

It does not provide Objects insert menu.
